POSTINGS

this past weekend

This past weekend, I have the privilege to design the flowers for Katie and David!  I haven’t been able to get the professional photos from the weekend, but I couldn’t help but share some shots I got with my iphone!!

The wedding was held outside at the Bali Hai here in San Diego and the reception was in the outdoor pavilion.  This was my first wedding at the Bali Hai and I was very impressed with all of the staff and the venue as a whole.

So, here are just a few shots of the Hawaiian feel that Katie dreamed up.  The purple/fuchsia was a fabulous look for this venue!

Katie and David picked a gorgeous venue and the wedding was out along the water on Shelter Island…

We dressed up the bamboo alter with a little ivory chiffon and two arrangements of orchids.

The girls wore grey dresses and had purple orchid (with a little pop of white) bouquets.  Here is a shot of all of the bouquets bundled and ready for delivery, so you can’t see each one, but I just fell in love with the mixture of flowers…

Katie chose two different centerpieces, one was all tall glasses with submerged orchids and floating candles and the other was a tall spray arrangement with curly willow and bombay dendrobium orchids, which was then surrounded by 3 small arrangements of hydrangeas at the table top…

And lastly…for now…the cake!  To be honest, placing flowers on cakes makes me very nervous, but this one turned out just fabulous…

Everything is so timeless and stunning!  I obviously loved Katie’s taste and she was such a joy to work with!  I’ll post the professional photos when I get them cause I know you would love to see what Katie and David looked like on their wedding day!!

Katie and Jesse are MARRIED!

It has been a busy couple of months!  I have a lot of photos coming your way soon.  But I must share this video of the recent wedding that Katie and Jesse put together.  I used to work with Katie several years ago and it is such an honor to have been part of this special day for them.  This video captures the day…and flowers…oh, and their love just perfectly.

You can also find the video on Katie’s blog, since she is a PHOTOGRAPHER!  That’s right, San Diego brides and grooms, you should contact Katie for your wedding today!!  So, here is what she said to introduce the video on her blog:

Two years ago, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this man at a coffee shop in San Diego (okay, fine, I reluctantly showed up to a blind date). Fast forward a bit, and suddenly we’re saying our vows on this perfect San Diego summer day, a little over a month ago. Because I’m also lucky enough to have such talented friends, I was able to put together a video that included wedding day footage from the dynamic duo of Tom and Tim and photos from Nate and Jaclyn of The Image Is Found. It was truly one of the most mind-blowing-amazing days of my life. I hope you enjoy. (note: it may take a moment for the video to load.)

Mackenzie and Wes are one beautiful couple!  We were honored to be part of their wedding day a couple of weeks ago (remember that post with all of the flowers packed in my SUV?)!  I am anxiously awaiting their professional shots, but here is one from one of the wedding guests that I found on her blog, via facebook (I’m a certified wedding flower stalker these days…I kid).  Thank you Christine of “Always a flower girl, finally a bride” for sharing such a beautiful post about Mackenzie and Wes’ beautiful wedding.
I just love the dress, the suit, the veil, and those flowers (of course)!

Cristy is amazing to work with!! We did not have a huge budget for our flowers (kind of a champagne tastes/beer budget situation), but after just one sit-down consultation she turned out absolutely beautiful results!! Everyone of our guests commented on how gorgeous the wedding was. She's very creative, really listens to your input, and is super reliable- hire her and let the flowers be one less thing you have to worry about on your wedding day! I'll be recommending Buds & Blooms to everyone!
